Western horoscopes are built on your sun sign alone — one of twelve buckets, shared with roughly 1/12th of the planet. No birth time, no birth place, no real timing, just a generic monthly template. This reading is calculated from the exact moment and place you were born: every planet's real position, mapped to your life alone, with timing you can check against what's actually happened to you.
Every placement is calculated from Swiss Ephemeris — the same engine professional astrologers use — accurate to the degree, not just the sign. Every planet carries its full mythology, not a one-line keyword. And the timing names specific years, matched to your own life, not just the general shape of a decade.
Western astrology is currently off by about 24 degrees — nearly a full zodiac sign — because it's still anchored to a 2,000-year-old convention, not the actual sky. Vedic astrology corrects for that drift, so your placements reflect where the planets really were when you were born.
Western astrology tells you who you are. Vedic astrology tells you when things happen — real, checkable timing, not just personality traits.

These are two technical settings that determine how a Vedic chart is calculated — worth knowing about, but not something you need to understand to use your reading. "Ayanamsa" is the adjustment used to align the zodiac with the actual visible constellations (Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, not the tropical one Western astrology uses) — Lahiri is the most widely accepted standard among Vedic astrologers. "Whole-sign houses" is the house system: each of your 12 houses is simply one full zodiac sign, starting from your Ascendant's sign. Both are the standard, traditional choices used by professional Vedic astrologers — we use them so your chart is calculated the way it's meant to be, not because they're something you'll need to reference in your reading.
Try to find it first — a birth certificate, hospital record, or baby book usually has it, and it makes a real difference: even a 15-20 minute difference in birth time can shift your Ascendant and house placements, which changes a meaningful part of your reading. If you genuinely can't find it, use your best estimate; the sign-level placements for your Sun, Moon, and planets will still be accurate for most of the day, and the house-based sections are what's most sensitive to an exact time.
Yes! Just enter their birth date, time, and location instead of your own at checkout, and have the reading emailed to your own address (or theirs, if you'd rather they receive it directly). It's a popular way to introduce someone to their own chart for the first time and a unique and thoughtful gift!
Yes. Checkout is handled entirely by Stripe, the same payment processor used by a large share of major online retailers — we never see or store your full card number on our end.
Your exact birth time and place are used only to calculate your chart — and they're shown throughout your reading exactly as you entered them, including your full Ascendant degree. We don't share that data, and we don't store it in our own systems: once your reading is generated, your birth details exist only in the document we give you, not in any database on our end.
